Digital Enterprise Top 100 reveals best tech savvy businesses across Leeds City Region
The first ever Digital Enterprise Top 100 report is our celebration of the pioneering innovation and digital transformations being achieved right now by businesses on our doorstep, receiving in excess of 500 nominations for 2019.
The Digital Enterprise Top 100 is run by UMi for the Digital Enterprise Programme, which provides funding, networking and training to more than 2,000 businesses across Leeds City Region. UMi is a delivery partner of the programme and created the campaign to identify and profile the wealth of dynamic and sophisticated businesses which are embracing new technologies.

The Digital Enterprise Top 100 campaign report profiles and celebrates 100 of Leeds City Region’s most innovative and digital businesses.
Report Feature - is the cornerstone of the campaign, which includes recognised digital and technology businesses and stories of digital transformation. The report has been distributed across Yorkshire and further afield to key businesses, decision makers and stakeholders.

The 2019 judges were Muz Mumtaz, Digital Enterprise Programme Manager, Helen Goldthorpe, Associate at Shulmans, Richard Brook, Digital Enterprise’s Digital Growth Advisor, Edd Grinham, Exa Networks Limited’s Marketing Manager and Bryan Hoare, UMi Commercial Director. From the 502 entries from across Leeds City Region, the panel shortlisted 118, and then selected their top 100.
Muz said he was particularly delighted at the numbers of smaller businesses starting to embrace technology: “The Digital Enterprise Top 100 Index clearly demonstrates that there’s a vibrant network of businesses tapping into all sorts of exciting technology– and their experience is there for businesses of all sizes to share.
Celebrating Digital Enterprise
The Digital Enterprise Top 100 attracted nominations from a wide range of business types, across Leeds City Region, including software experts, automated retail and healthcare. The judges whittled the list of these amazing businesses down to 10 of the best exemplars of those using technology to drive success.

Aire Logic is an ICT strategy, software development and product development company
Livewell Vending is a technology driven retailer via branded, touchscreen vending stations stocking drinks and snacks in schools, workplaces, hospitals, and gyms across the North of England

Since October 2016, the team at Digital Enterprise have been helping small and medium sized enterprises (SME) across the Leeds City Region to improve their performance by investing in appropriate digital technologies and expertise.
The programme is partly funded by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund 2014-20), the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and nine of the local authorities that make up the Leeds City Region.
Across all strands of the Digital Enterprise business support programme, businesses have attributed the support gained from grant funding and business support intervention as a key reason for their increased use of new technology deployment and digital solutions within their business. Positive impacts have included increased confidences, the ability to access new markets and customers, the creation of new jobs, a more flexible workforce, and increased profitability.
Technological and digital transformations funded and supported by the Digital Enterprise programme have included the acquisition of new software, enhanced websites, installation of VOIP, new IT hardware and the ability to upgrade digital connectivity and broadband.
Through the success of the programme, Digital Enterprise is delighted to launch The Digital Enterprise 100 campaign which will profile and celebrate 100 of Leeds City Region’s most innovative digital businesses.
